We are now up to 6 calves. 6 of 30, it is still early in calving season and I am tired. I am spending around 3-4 hours a day with the cows and calves.
I am tired, sore, sun burnt and have a rash that may or may not be poison ivy. I have managed to get this far into calving season without throwing out my back, but messed up my knee somehow.
I am also very happy to say we have 6 healthy calves, and that includes Rosie and Sissy, our bottlefed twins.
Did I mention Softball and Baseball? 4 nights a week, I am running kids to practices and games. Laundry is backed up, dinners are late and haphazardly thrown together.
At the end of the day, I fall into bed, bone tired. But it is a good tired, I get the kind of nights sleep that you can only get from being outside all day, on a farm with animals I enjoy being around. Happy to see my kids participate in sports they love, and grateful I can do it all.
I need to get back on the ball. Meal planning, scheduling, and organizing. So I am going to ask a favor of you. My family likes to eat, I am am short on time, I think my slow cooker might help our meal problem.
I would love it if you could share your favorite warm weather crockpot meals, you can email a recipe, post a link in a comment here, or message me on Facebook. I have created a Warm Weather CrockPot board on Pinterest, to pin any recipes I come across or you send. If you are needing a little meal inspiration yourself, please feel free to follow this board, or any of my boards for that matter 🙂
I can not wait to start getting myself a little more organized, and I am pretty sure my family is looking forward to a better quality meals 😉
