2017 Locktoberfest Coming to Seneca Falls!
The New York State Canal Corporation has chosen Seneca Falls as one of the five locations throughout New York State to hold Locktoberfest which is a festival celebrating Autumn on the Canalways system.
The event incorporates community markets, local artwork, Taste NY products, entertainment, and children’s activities. Collaborating with the Canal Corporation and partnering with I Love NY, Taste NY, New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, this inaugural event is established to become an annual event to promote the Canal Harbor, Downtown Business Corridor, and the entire Community.
The Seneca Falls Business Association (SFBA) serves as the organizer of the event which will be held on Saturday, October the 7th from 10 am to 10 pm on the North-side of the Seneca Falls Canal Harbor. Ann Sandroni, SFBA President, “We are adding to the success of the Canal Fest with another event to bring visitors into our wonderful town. Our downtown businesses have so much to offer and most of them will be participating at this year’s Locktoberfest.” Locktoberfest will have live entertainment, family-friendly events, arts, crafts, local food, farmers, craft beverages, and much more.
Dennis Scannell, Locktoberfest organizer added, “This will be the place to be for the last weekend of boating on the New York State Canal System. As the boating season gradually comes to an end, we invite all Boaters to visit the “The Wall” here in Seneca Falls and enjoy the festivities along our beautiful Canal Harbor. We have a unique location where boaters can easily walk to our local business district as the festivities whine down for the evening.”
Boaters are invited to take advantage of free docking throughout the weekend. The Seneca Falls Canal Harbor (aka “The Wall”) offers free electric and water hook-ups as well as phone & internet services. Convenient shower and laundry facilities are also available.
Sponsorship and Vendor forms are posted on the Seneca Falls Locktoberfest’s official website at locktoberfest.senecafalls.com or contact SFBA directly at [email protected]. “We are still inviting vendors of all kinds, from food, arts & crafts, beverages, and organizations to expose all of our visitors to the taste and spirit of the Finger Lakes. Sponsors and volunteers are still needed, we are asking all interested parties to contact us. A little goes a long way!” said Sandroni.
