Finding Sour cherries in the Finger Lakes Area
Sour or “pie” cherries, are tart in flavor and bright red in color, and as far as I am concerned worth their weight in gold. Sour cherries have an incredibly short season, and it can be hard to get your hands on them. But it is worth the effort of finding some, nothing compares to a pie filled with sour cherries.
A reader recently inquired where she could get sour cherries, and unfortunately, I think I may have deleted or lost that email before I had a chance to respond (I’m sorry) so I thought I would share a list here.
