Bleak House
Our tour guide told us that the Bleak house was given it’s name because of it’s outlying position on the Willard campus. Nestled in a grove of trees, high a top a severe drop off little sunlight or activity happened here on the west end of the Willard Campus. It was home to the stewards over the years. The steward did all the purchasing and distributing of supplies, supervised the farm and gardens,  and was responsible for the upkeep of the buildings.

I found it to be a typical older house you would find here in upstate NY, and the attempts to lighten up the bleak house are charming. I actually found it bright and cheery on our visit.
